Emissions could make earth uninhabitable 
Greenhouse gases could tip the Earth – or at least a planet like Earth, orbiting a star very like the Sun – into a runaway greenhouse effect, according to new research.

Confusion is the Source of Change
Why only 20% of Dutch companies are EED compliant

In a previous news-item we highlighted the confused implementation of Article 8 of the European Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), which required businesses to conduct energy audits before December 5th 2015.

Although the decree was published in 2012, and should identify cost savings opportunities, it became clear that many European businesses were under-prepared for the implementation of Article 8 last year.

Coping with Climate Change and COP21 - 
Why we should leap before we're pushed!

We live in a post COP21 World. It’s now more than two months since the nations of the world agreed (in article 2) to work towards limiting global warming to 1.5 °C (above pre-industrial levels). But what does that mean?  Have we been saved or submerged in the wake of what happened in Paris?

The COP21 Agreement
The 1.5 °C agreement is, in fact, an encouraging outcome.  Before Paris, even an agreement on a 2 °C limit was far from a certainty. But what chance of success without a clear road-map for achieving the 1.5 °C limit?  The COP21 pledges include a commitment to help developing countries to adapt to climate change and also, transition to clean energy – by providing finance.  However, this commitment, like the 1.5 °C limit, is not legally binding. But do we need to be forced into taking action?

Eurbanlab defines Urban Innovations as "urban (re)development projects that incorporate systemic innovations, involving new or modified concepts, systems, products and/or techniques, that contribute to low-carbon, climate resilient development, on the scale of a street or upwards.
