Versus 2014 – 11/12/13 September in Valencia
VerSus 2014 is an International Conference on the Lessons from Vernacular Heritage for Sustainable Architecture. The conference themes are the study of vernacular architecture and its mechanisms for sustainability, the conservation and restoration of vernacular architecture and the potential applications of sustainable lessons of vernacular heritage to contemporary architecture. The conference took place on 11th, 12th and 13th September 2014, at the School of Architecture of Universitat Politècnica de València. Associated to VerSus 2014 Conference will be organised Mediterra 2014, the second conference of Earthen Architecture in the Mediterranean region, and ResTAPIA 2014, the second conference of earthen architecture conservation in general, and rammed earth conservation, in particular.

The article presented by the Valencia Institute of Building (authors: Carolina Mateo and Alfonso Fernández) was selected for publishing and also for oral presentation in the VerSus 2014 International Conference. The paper titled The B4U assessment tool for urban regeneration projects and its Profit indicators explains the Eurbanlab approach to promote the transition towards low ‐carbon economies and one of its initiatives: the B4U assessment tool. After being identified the factors that allow urban regeneration projects to be successful, the communication focused on the indicator categories which add a differential value to other schemes (categories of Profit, Process and Propagation) and it were compared five case studies rated by the B4U tool. The contents of the paper were presented in an oral presentation last 11th of September, in the School of Architecture of Valencia during the conference sessions.
